“Representing 80% of the world’s economic power, leaders were supposed to come together to take on challenges too large for any individual country to solve alone.”
The problem is that each nation’s government still fears for it’s competitiveness in the global marketplace. Each government acts to protect it’s own interests above all else. Hence the triumph of rhetoric over actual policy.
The only way to overcome this problem is through Simultaneous Policy – where all (or sufficient) nations act together simultaenously to implement the necessary policies.
The only way to achieve THAT, in turn, is for we – the people – to DRIVE them to do so.
We must use our voices to create our own agenda and we must use our votes to make it in the vital interests of the politicians to implement that agenda.
